GOSPEL CONVERSATIONS
Whether it's at the office, in the grocery store, or around dinner table, we strive to be laborers in the harvest of our everyday lives by regularly sharing the gospel with those who are far from God.
PARKWAY SCHOOL
Laurel Springs is blessed to have a special relationship with Parkway School. In addition to a tutoring program we have for students every Wednesday afternoon during the school year, we also provide goodies for the teachers, host various school functions, and clean up the school grounds.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT APPALACHIAN STATE
Many families in Laurel Springs adopt international students at Appalachian State each semester through the university's International Friendship Program. We also help the international office with transportation for various events.
NATIONAL
NORTH AMERICAN MISSION BOARD
The North American Mission Board is the domestic missions agency of Southern Baptist churches. Every spring we participate in the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering that supports church planters in the United States and Canada. A portion of our Cooperative Program giving also supports these church planters.
We currently have two strategic partnerships through NAMB:
WATER OF LIFE CHURCH IN COWLEY, WYOMING
Cowley and the surrounding towns aren't heavily populated, but they are almost entirely Mormon. Johannes Slabbert planted Water of Life Church in 2017. It is the first evangelical church in that community. We support them financially and send a team every summer to assist with outreach.
KING'S HILL CHURCH IN BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
Unlike Cowley, Boston is heavily populated; but like Cowley, there is a great need for gospel-centered churches. Jonathan Moseley started King's Hill Church in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston in 2018. We support them financially and send a team every fall to help with outreach.
GLOBAL
INTERNATIONAL MISSION BOARD
The International Mission Board is the international missions agency of Southern Baptist churches. Every winter we participate in the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering that supports IMB missionaries (outside the United States and Canada). Like it does with NAMB, a portion of our Cooperative Program giving supports these missionaries.
JOSHUA PROJECT
The Joshua Project is a resource we frequently use to help us pray for unreached people groups.
SAMARITAN'S PURSE
Samaritan's Purse is an international relief organization headquartered just a few miles away in Boone. A ministry of Samaritan's Purse that Laurel Springs actively supports is Operation Christmas Child. Every Christmas we pack shoeboxes that reach pockets of lostness around the world with the gospel. A group of ladies in our church called Covers of Comfort meets regularly to make handmade items for the shoeboxes.
