Food for the Soul

In Matthew 25, verse 35, Jesus said… "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. Then in verse 40, he continued by saying …‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

“Food for the Soul” is living ministry that provides a hot nutritious, well-balanced mealto those who have needs, in any way, not just financially.  Our desire is that you will not only be able to feed your appetite, but also find personal nourishment and renewal. We have been blessed to partner with Green Street Catering and other generous local businesses in this ministry.  If you are unable to join us at the church, you may pick up meals or let us know and deliveries can be made.  We also have special activities planned for children at each meal.  We want to extend the love and grace of Christ Jesus to as many members of our community that have been affected by any type of hardship.

Our mission here at LSBC is to fulfill the Great Commission and follow the Great Commandment: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, 'you shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" Matthew 22: 37-39.  Our hope is that “Food for the Soul” will serve our members, our community, and most importantly our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please check the online calendar and see when you can join us on every other Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at Laurel Springs Baptist Church in the fellowship hall for a community meal and experience the grace and love of Christ Jesus.

If you have any questions regarding “Food for the Soul,” please feel free to contact the church at 262-1330 or Erin Patterson at 265-4755.
